The mother of three children, Sarah is a professional woman who has dedicated her life to assisting families of children with disabilities.
She currently is appointed to the Florida State Advisory Committee for the Education of Exceptional Students, and contracts with Orange County Public Schools to provide services for families with the Exceptional Student Education department as Parent Liaison. Her past, professional experience includes training consumers for the Florida Department of Children and Families Developmental Disabilities Program, working for the Early Intervention Program as a Family Resource Specialist, raising funds and community support for various disability associated support groups and programs, and training families in conjunction with the Parent Education Network of the Family Network on Disabilities of Florida, Inc.
She is Certified with the Justice Center in Atlanta to mediate Special Education cases, a Certified Advocate for the Statewide Advocacy Network on Disabilities, a graduate of the Florida Developmental Disabilities Council's Partners in Policymaking program, and a member of many charity and disability related organizations including TASH, and the Council for Exceptional Children.
Her daughter, Eleana, was born with a severe congenital heart defect. Eleana has received multiple heart surgeries, including a pulmonary valve transplant, and will require more surgery in the future. Sarah lives in the Orlando, Florida area with her husband and children.
